Punjab Local Government Commission Composition (Section 131 of PLGO-2001):

1. a Chairman who shall be the Minister of Local Government;
2. two members from the general public, one each nominated by the leader of the House and leader of the Opposition of the Provincial Assembly;
3. two eminent, qualified and experienced technocrat members selected by the Government; and
4. Secretary, Local Government and Rural Development Department, shall be ex-officio member and secretary of the Commission.
5. Provided that in case of equality of vote, the Chairman shall have a casting vote.

Secretarial Support (Section 131 [4])

The Local Government Department shall provide secretarial support to the Local Government Commission and the Department shall render assistance in the functioning of the Commission [1] by establishing a separate Secretariat of the Commission with sections for which level of local government that is District, Tehsil and Union Levels .
